About the Role

Alstom is seeking a full-time Head of Bid Management D&IS Onboard and Urban in Berlin/Mannheim. This role is based at Alstom's DACH regional headquarters in Berlin, focusing on rail digitalization within the Digital & Integrated Systems (D&IS) product line. The position reports to Tomar Siddhant and involves managing bids for the D&IS Onboard and Urban Business for the DACH region.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full value chain of all Bids running in D&IS Onboard and Urban for the DACH region, including technical and commercial aspects.
  • Define and drive the bid strategy for the D&IS Onboard and Urban Business for the DACH region, including strategic decision-making for PiO.
  • Define the strategy with Sales & Business on where to execute the complete value chain of the Project, including decision-making on the serial installation of trains.
  • Manage the Tender Quality Costs Delivery Performance (QCDP) commitment for High or Medium critical bids.
  • Deliver a winning proposal with the team, ensuring a defined scope, accurate QCDP commitments, timely delivery, and adherence to the tender budget.
  • Lead a team of 15+ members and manage skills development plans with HR support.
  • Lead by example and go the extra mile to deliver.
  • Manage resource allocation to bids, including S&OP for Bids.
  • Support and lead the development of a result-oriented working culture.
  • Collaborate with Platform D&IS within the framework of bids.
  • Support commercial and technical negotiations with customers during bids.
  • Travel up to 50-80% of the time.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or a similar field (e.g., engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, railway technology).
  • Good knowledge of financial aspects (rules for consolidated costs, cash curve, hedging).
  • Good knowledge of contractual aspects (bonds & guarantees).
  • Good knowledge of legal aspects (obligations, penalties) to interface with internal parties and assess costing impacts.
  • Good capability to manage efficient team working under stressful conditions to produce tender deliverables within a limited period.
  • Good communication skills and reporting capabilities.
  • A good sense of anticipation, strong negotiation skills, and a customer-oriented approach.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
  • German fluency is highly preferred.
