About the Role
We are looking for an experienced H&S Manager to lead health, safety, and compliance activities within a complex food and beverage distribution operation at our Greene King site in Greenford. This role supports warehouse, transport, and support functions, focusing on developing a proactive safety culture, ensuring legislative compliance, and driving continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with operational leaders, colleagues, unions, and external bodies to prioritize safety.
Responsibilities
- Lead all health and safety activities across warehousing, transport, and support functions
- Manage risk assessments, safe systems of work, accident investigations, and RIDDOR reporting
- Deliver audits, compliance reviews, and improvement plans, including support for BRC standards
- Produce and present KPI reports, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership teams
- Coach and support managers and colleagues to continuously improve safety performance and engagement
- Promote and drive a culture of safety engagement in line with the Road to Zero philosophy
- Improve performance through the implementation of relevant management systems, current standards, and legislation
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by identifying and controlling risks
- Prevent accidents and causes of work-related ill health
Requirements
- Strong experience in health and safety management within logistics, distribution, warehousing, or a similar operational environment
- Experience conducting investigations, risk assessments, audits, and driving corrective actions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence at all levels, including Unions, the local EHO, and the Environment Agency
