About the Role
This role provides financial expertise and support to various departments by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to inform investment decisions, assess financial risks, and support strategic planning. The Senior Strategic Finance Analyst (Product & Technology) will support Product and Technology leadership teams by providing financial analysis, strategic insight, and decision support, translating investment priorities and technology spend into clear financial plans.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate investment opportunities and potential risks through in-depth research and prepare investment recommendations.
- Prepare short-term and long-term financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial risks and provide regular reports to senior colleagues and the board.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions.
- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using professional knowledge and skills.
- Set objectives and coach employees, appraise performance, and determine reward outcomes.
- Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members.
- Identify the need for inclusion of other specializations to complete assignments.
- Identify new directions for assignments and/or projects.
- Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures.

Requirements
- Qualified Accountant with a recognised professional finance qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience in a commercial finance, FP&A, strategic finance or finance business partnering role.
- Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical skills.
- Experience supporting business planning and investment decisions.
- Experience within a Payments, Fintech or other fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Experience supporting Product, Technology or other functional teams through business partnering activities.

About the Company
- Barclays’ payments acceptance business provides critical infrastructure to the UK economy, processing billions of pounds of payments annually for both small businesses and domestic and international corporate clients.
- In April 2025, Barclays announced a long-term partnership with Brookfield Asset Management to grow and transform the payments acceptance business by broadening the range of services offered, enhancing the experience for both existing and prospective clients.
- Barclays will invest approximately £400m in the new business, the majority of which will be incurred during the first three years.
- Performance-linked incentives will drive greater alignment between the partners, underpinning the long-term commitment to the transformation.
- Barclays and Brookfield will work to create a standalone entity over time, continuing to use the Barclaycard Payments (BPL) brand and acting as the sole payments acceptance services provider to Barclays’ clients for a minimum of ten years.
