About the Role
This role provides financial expertise and support to various departments by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to inform investment decisions, assess financial risks, and support strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate investment opportunities and potential risks through in-depth research and prepare investment recommendations.
- Prepare short-term and long-term financial forecasts for strategic planning.
- Monitor financial risks and provide regular reports to senior colleagues and the board.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Support the Strategic Finance Lead and leadership team with financial analysis and commercial insights.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts, scenario models, and long-range planning analyses.
- Contribute to the preparation and assessment of investment cases.
- Build and maintain ROI frameworks and performance tracking tools.
- Translate complex financial data into clear insights and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships teams to understand performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant with a recognised professional finance qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Proven experience in financial modelling, forecasting, and business partnering within a commercial finance or strategic finance environment.
- Experience supporting senior stakeholders and influencing decisions through data-driven analysis.
- Experience working within a Payments or Fintech environment, with an understanding of fast-paced, regulated businesses.
- Experience in commercial finance, FP&A, strategic finance or business partnering roles.
- Commercial mindset and experience partnering with a range of business stakeholders.
- Strong experience in financial forecasting, ROI modelling, investment analysis and business partnering.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

About the Company
- Barclays’ payments acceptance business provides critical infrastructure to the UK economy, processing billions of pounds of payments annually for both small businesses and domestic and international corporate clients.
- In April 2025, Barclays announced a long-term partnership with Brookfield Asset Management to grow and transform the payments acceptance business by broadening the range of services offered and enhancing the experience for clients.
- Barclays will invest approximately £400m in the new business, with performance-linked incentives to drive alignment between partners.
- Barclays and Brookfield will work to create a standalone entity over time, continuing to use the Barclaycard Payments (BPL) brand and acting as the sole payments acceptance services provider to Barclays’ clients for a minimum of ten years.
