About the Role
As an FP&A Strategy Intern, you will own real analysis from day one and see your work land in front of senior decision-makers. You will be the strategic finance partner to SumUp's leadership, turning numbers into decisions that move the business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate budget allocation and business plans.
- Examine internal financial data to identify risks and opportunities and provide financial expertise to support managerial decision making.
- Support cross-functional projects to maximise financial performance, such as pricing strategies, revenue optimisation, or cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop business cases to assess the financial viability of projects, including product or market launches, and provide data-driven support for senior leadership reporting and presentations.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and financial metrics to assess performance.
- Contribute to the optimization and automation of finance-related processes through the implementation of new methodologies and/or tools.
Requirements
- Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
- Structured, hypothesis-driven thinking with the ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear analysis.
- Previous internship experience in consulting, venture capital, startups, banking, or FP&A.
- Proficiency in building models in Google Sheets and creating presentations in Google Slides.
- Willingness to learn Apps Script for automation.
- Solid understanding of finance and accounting basics, including cost centers and GL accounts.
- Comfort working with finance tools like SAP and Pigment.
- Ability to explain complex financial ideas simply to non-finance professionals.
