About the Role
This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of warehouse operations, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards. The successful candidate will support and lead operational teams, drive productivity, maintain quality standards, and ensure performance targets are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support daily warehouse operations, ensuring all tasks and activities are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Lead, motivate, and coach operational teams to achieve agreed productivity levels and key performance indicators.
- Ensure all quality, health and safety procedures are followed across processing, checking, and operational activities.
- Monitor team performance and ensure employees follow correct processes, procedures, and operational standards.
- Complete daily management reports, providing accurate updates on operational performance and productivity.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and workplace organisation across the operation.
- Provide support and assistance to other departments as required to ensure smooth operational performance.
- Promote a positive employee relations environment, encouraging teamwork, engagement, and collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, ensuring a high level of service is maintained.
- Coach and mentor operatives and Team Leaders, supporting individual development and continuous improvement.
- Monitor operational performance, including attendance, quality, productivity, and cost control measures.
- Support the management and development of an engaged team, ensuring objectives are aligned, measurable, and focused on delivering business results.
Requirements
- Previous experience supervising a team within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and operational processes.
- Good level of Maths and English.
- Proven people management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
- Experience monitoring team performance against quality, productivity, attendance, and operational targets.
- Understanding of quality systems and the ability to support continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- A proactive and positive approach with strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
