About the Role

Join Fireship, a leading software engineering and tech YouTube channel with over 4 million subscribers, known for its high-energy, fast-paced tutorials. We are seeking creative freelance Video Editors for our remote content production team, ideal for those with experience in story-based editing and a passion for technology and coding.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in the production and video editing of Fireship’s YouTube content to increase output quantity and variety.
• Source, select, and import relevant media elements to create dynamic video content.
• Collaborate with creators and scriptwriters to align with storytelling vision and produce high-quality work.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation for easy asset access and collaboration.
• Stay updated on internet culture and tech world news.

Requirements

• Proven experience in video editing with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital content creation, particularly for YouTube and short-form video.
• Confident use of keyframe animation for 'faceless' video content.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Strong attention to detail to ensure brand consistency in fonts, colors, styles, and visual elements.
• Experience working with programming or tech-related content is highly desirable.
• Ability to understand complex topics and break them down into digestible, engaging video formats.
• Passion for technology, programming, and digital content creation.
• Keen interest in staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
• Innate ability to craft YouTube videos that maximize engagement and audience retention, using YouTube as a primary source for education and entertainment.
