About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Commercial Counsel, Procurement to join our London team. This hybrid role requires a minimum of 3 days a week in our London HQ. You’ll help navigate complex commercial contracts, mitigate vendor risks, and scale international technology and procurement capabilities across high-growth markets. You’ll report to the Senior Director, Associate General Counsel for the UK & Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Structure and negotiate a wide range of agreements, from off-the-shelf SaaS contracts to large-scale, multi-jurisdictional business unit outsourcings.
- Partner cross-functionally to deliver pragmatic, business-focused legal advice to key stakeholders across Tech, Marketing, People, Finance, and Supply Chain on strategic projects and procurement needs.
- Represent Legal on steering committees to navigate emerging challenges, regulatory changes, and new technology rollouts, owning legal risks from inception to solution.
- Prepare Executive and Signatory notes that clearly translate complex legal risks into actionable business insights.
- Provide proactive training and advice across evolving topics, including AI risk management, vendor compliance, and financial regulations.
- Advocate for legal best practice and continuously improve internal contracting processes to scale efficiency.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with significant experience providing commercial, strategic legal advice to international businesses.
- Proven track record across core commercial and procurement areas, including technology procurement, AI vendor agreements, payment service provider contracts, and material outsourcings.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships, influence senior leaders, and collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, matrixed global organisation.
- Skilled at distilling complex legal risks for varied audiences—from executive teams to junior team members—and adapting your communication style accordingly.
- High commercial acumen and a growth mindset, with the drive to find creative, business-first solutions in ambiguous or novel areas of law.
- Familiarity with evolving regulatory frameworks, such as payment services regulations or AI compliance regimes.
- Previous in-house legal experience within a high-growth technology business or an internationally managed/US-owned corporate environment.
