About the Role

The TMO Implementation Lead plays a pivotal role within the Transformation Management Office (TMO), leading the successful mobilisation and execution of large-scale operating model and Enterprise Agile transformations across Barclays. Acting as the bridge between strategy and delivery, the role is responsible for developing and driving end-to-end implementation plans across people, processes, tooling, training, and governance. The coach ensures organisations are prepared for change by establishing implementation readiness, activating new ways of working, supporting operating model adoption, and aligning delivery with business priorities. Working closely with the TMO Lead, Agile Coaches, HR, Tooling and Training leads, the role also develops coaching capability, coordinates enablement activities, manages implementation risks and dependencies, and provides governance oversight. Through strong stakeholder engagement and structured execution, the Implementation Coach enables sustainable adoption of the target operating model and drives successful transformation outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage change projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, in control, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Develop and manage project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, regarding project progress and needs.
  • Manage project teams, ensuring adequate resourcing and necessary skills for objective delivery.
  • Manage project budgets to ensure delivery within agreed financial parameters.
  • Create project progress reports to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of proposed solutions.
  • Manage project risks, identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Facilitate change management activities, including training and communication, for successful project implementation and embedding.
  • Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements.
  • Escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment to support the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of organisation functions to contribute to business goals.
  • Collaborate with other work areas for business-aligned support and to stay updated on business activity and strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
  • Define problems and develop innovative solutions through in-depth analysis and interpretative thinking.
  • Adopt and include outcomes of extensive research in problem-solving processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading large-scale Agile transformation and implementation programmes from planning through to successful delivery.
  • Strong ability to manage senior stakeholders and influence decision-making across complex organisations.
  • Expertise in developing implementation roadmaps, governance frameworks, risk management, and delivery controls.
  • Experience embedding new operating models, Agile ways of working, and sustainable change across business functions.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams to deliver strategic outcomes, drive adoption, and realise business value.
  • Experience establishing or operating within a Transformation Management Office (TMO), PMO, or enterprise change function.
  • Knowledge of Agile, SAFe, product operating models, and large-scale organisational change frameworks.
  • Experience with portfolio, programme, and implementation tooling such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent delivery platforms.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills with the ability to track implementation progress, risks, and benefits realisation.
  • Professional qualifications in Project Management, Change Management, Agile Delivery, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
  • In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
