About the Role
At Gemba Advantage, we design and build secure, user-centred digital products for critical public sector organisations across the UK. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to shape meaningful systems, influence technical direction, and collaborate with capable people who care about doing the job properly. In this role, you will join two sister teams working on one of our most mission-focused projects, directly developing a suite of business-critical systems and solutions that make a tangible impact. You’ll help design modern cloud-native services, elevate engineering standards, and tackle genuinely challenging problems alongside our clients.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver secure, scalable software within small, agile, high-performing teams.
- Balance writing quality code with shaping overall architecture and technical strategy.
- Set modern engineering standards, champion best practices (CI/CD, DevSecOps), and mentor teammates.
- Work directly with customers to untangle complex requirements and deliver high-value solutions.
Requirements
- Must hold active SC clearance and be eligible to obtain DV clearance.
- Requires applicants to work 4 days per week on site.
- Solid experience delivering production-grade systems in complex, highly regulated environments.
- Mastery of at least one modern language (Java, TypeScript, Python, Go, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with cloud/container technologies and a security-first approach to development.
- Confidence influencing architecture decisions and driving continuous improvement across teams.
