About the Role
As a Manager of Governmental Relations Policy, you will take strategic responsibility for health policy issues in defined therapeutic areas and represent the company's interests to political decision-makers and relevant stakeholders. You will develop evidence-based health policy strategies throughout the entire product lifecycle, analyze legislative developments, and derive recommendations for action. This role offers a broad, strategically oriented range of tasks in a dynamic health policy environment and is initially limited in duration.
Responsibilities
- Strategic responsibility for health policy issues in one or more therapeutic areas, including development and implementation of political strategies
- Representation of the company towards political decision-makers, associations, and self-governing bodies
- Content leadership for defined therapeutic areas and central interface function within cross-functional teams (Medical, Market Access, Commercial, Communications)
- Stakeholder management: Building and maintaining robust relationships with politics, administration, associations, and other relevant actors
- Steering of cross-divisional initiatives and alignment with national, European, and global teams
- Analysis and monitoring of legislative processes, and derivation of impacts and strategic recommendations for action
- Preparation of positions, statements, and briefings for internal and external target groups (German/English)
- Planning and implementation of political communication measures, and development of event formats and dialogue platforms
- Representation of our company in associations and industry-wide initiatives
- Budget and resource responsibility for political activities within the area of responsibility
Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree (e.g., Political Science, Economics, Law, Public Health, Health Economics, or equivalent)
- Several years of experience in Public Affairs, Governmental Relations, or Health Policy
- Sound knowledge of the German healthcare system, relevant legislative processes, and political decision-making structures
- Robust network in the political and health policy environment is an advantage
- Strong analytical and strategic skills, as well as experience in developing political positions
- Very good communication skills in German and English (written and spoken)
- High degree of independence, teamwork, and confident demeanor at all hierarchical levels
