About the Role

We are seeking a Test Engineering Lead to drive both rapid development and quality improvement for the online dating app 'Pairs'. This role is crucial in ensuring continuous quality assurance amidst the increasing adoption of AI agents in development, aiming for a state where developers and AI agents can autonomously develop with quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Formulate the company-wide Quality Engineering strategy and build a development environment that ensures quality without sacrificing development speed when using AI agents.
• Design and implement automated test infrastructure, test data, quality checks in CI/CD, and continuous feedback mechanisms.
• Establish an environment where developers and AI agents can detect and address issues related to changes and quality problems.
• Continuously measure and visualize development speed and quality status, including test coverage, execution status, defect detection rates, production defects, and incidents.
• Identify quality issues and bottlenecks from data and drive improvements in development processes, test strategies, architecture, and tools.
• Collaborate with development teams to establish processes and operations that enable them to autonomously improve quality during daily development.
• Lead hands-on technology selection, design, implementation, and review for test automation and quality infrastructure.
• Manage the team, including training, goal setting, evaluation, and hiring for Quality Engineering members.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and development teams to define critical product quality aspects and drive the design of signals and metrics to capture and continuously improve quality.

Requirements

• Experience in software development or test automation as a Software Engineer, SET, SDET, QA Engineer, or Quality Engineer.
• Experience in test design and implementation for web applications, mobile applications, or backend systems.
• Knowledge and practical experience in automating multiple layers of testing, including unit, integration, E2E, and API tests.
• Experience integrating automated tests and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to design and implement test infrastructure, development tools, and business systems using programming languages.
• Experience analyzing data such as test coverage, defects, incidents, and release quality to drive improvements.
• Experience driving technical and organizational improvements by engaging multiple development teams and stakeholders.
• Management experience in an engineering team or Quality Engineering team.
• Fluent communication skills in Japanese.
