About the Role
The Doctoral College Officer will ensure postgraduate research activities run smoothly, supporting students, academic staff, and external examiners from thesis submission to the final award. Key tasks include managing exam entry, overseeing thesis submissions, maintaining records, and communicating exam results. The role also involves supporting the Research Degrees Programme Committee, updating Postgraduate Research Canvas pages, and managing studentship processes. The officer will serve as the main point of contact for inquiries, providing guidance on processes and policies to ensure timely and helpful support for doctoral researchers.
Responsibilities
- Manage exam entry
- Oversee thesis submissions
- Maintain accurate records
- Ensure clear communication of exam results
- Support the Research Degrees Programme Committee
- Keep Postgraduate Research Canvas pages up to date
- Help manage studentship processes
- Serve as the main point of contact for staff and doctoral researcher inquiries
- Provide clear guidance on processes and policies
- Ensure doctoral researchers receive timely and helpful support
