About the Role
We are seeking a Senior UX / Digital Product Designer to expertly manage the entire digital product development process, lead projects independently in dynamic agency and project environments, and operate at a senior level both strategically and operationally. Taikonauten develops digital products, services, and platforms for organizations in sectors such as Finance, FinTech, Mobility, and Industrial & Manufacturing, supporting them in strategically and sustainably evolving their digital offerings within the context of digital transformation, product innovation, and acceleration. We work exploratively, with deep conceptual understanding, and a high design standard, always with a strong focus on user-centricity. Responsibilities
- Lead digital product developments with conceptual clarity, methodological certainty, and design excellence.
- Bring structure to complex and initially unclear problem statements, make well-founded design decisions, and justify them to clients and internal teams.
- Take responsibility for product quality, user-centricity, and project dynamics.
- Combine business goals with real user needs and manage projects from the discovery phase to validation.
- Collaborate closely with clients, developers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Set quality standards in UX, Visual Design, and conceptual clarity.
- Responsibility for the entire UX and Product Design process (Discovery to Delivery).
- Structuring unclear problem statements (Problem Framing, Scope, Hypotheses).
- Contributing your professional perspective and consulting style in collaboration with clients.
- Developing viable UX concepts for complex digital products.
- Creating information architectures, user journeys, and end-to-end flows.
- Translating requirements into testable UX specifications.
- Planning and conducting qualitative research formats (interviews, tests, workshops).
- Structured synthesis of insights and derivation of robust recommendations.
- Conception and development of visually high-quality UI designs and design systems.
- Moderating workshops for project initialization, target image definition, and prioritization.
- Argumentative representation of UX and design decisions to stakeholders.
- Close collaboration with development teams during implementation.
- Independent structuring of complex project phases.
Requirements
- Many years of experience in UX / Product Design.
- Several years of agency experience with parallel projects and changing clients.
- Well-founded expertise in professional-strategic UX conception.
- Demonstrable end-to-end experience in digital product development.
- Well-founded expertise in user research and quantitative/qualitative analysis.
- Ability to derive and validate data-based hypotheses.
- Very high standard for visual quality (layout, typography, design systems).
- Strategic understanding of Digital Strategy and Service Design.
- Confident moderation in German (at least B2, ideally C1).
- Proficient in Figma.
- Systemic thinking and structured problem analysis.
- Ability to productively structure uncertainty.
- High sense of responsibility and self-organization.
- Resilience in dynamic project environments.
- Ability to set priorities independently.
- Commitment to actively represent and defend design quality.
- Openness and interest in AI tools as well as AI-supported processes and workflows.
- Willingness to take on responsibility beyond the pure design role.
- Experience with complex B2B or enterprise platforms is a plus.
- Data analysis experience (analytics, conversion optimization) is a plus.
- Experience with agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, etc.) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of technical architecture (APIs, frontend structures) is a plus.
- Experience in building or scaling design systems is a plus.
- Experience with AI tools, as well as working with AI-supported processes and workflows is a plus.
- International project experience is a plus.
