About the Role
Reporting to the CEO and as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Commercial will provide strategic and operational leadership for all commercial and contractual matters. Responsibilities include ensuring contractual compliance, identifying and mitigating commercial risks, and supporting the organization's growth. The role involves acting as the lead commercial expert, collaborating with clients, partners, and stakeholders to manage contractual obligations, lifecycle planning, risks, and opportunities. Key activities include overseeing commercial reporting, pay mechanism management, risk tracking, and governance to protect the business and maximize commercial opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all commercial and contractual matters.
- Ensure contractual compliance.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
- Support the continued growth and success of the organisation.
- Act as the lead commercial expert.
- Work closely with clients, construction partners, CHP, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders to manage contractual obligations, lifecycle planning, latent defects, unavailability risks and commercial opportunities.
- Support contractual decision-making, governance and compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance and deliver value across the portfolio.
- Oversee commercial reporting.
- Manage pay mechanisms.

Requirements
- Significant experience operating within a PPP/PFI, healthcare or complex FM contractual environment.
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts, contractual compliance, pay mechanisms and commercial risk management.
- Proven experience managing commercial challenges, including latent defects, unavailability claims and stakeholder negotiations.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
