About the Role
Support the underwriting, structuring, pricing, and execution of parametric insurance and reinsurance transactions globally, working closely with various internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the qualitative and quantitative assessment, pricing, and underwriting of parametric insurance and reinsurance transactions.
- Structure, design, and evaluate parametric triggers and payout mechanisms.
- Analyze catastrophe model outputs, climate datasets, hazard information, and exposure data.
- Support the development of a diversified and sustainable portfolio of parametric risks.
- Contribute to underwriting guidelines, risk appetite frameworks, and portfolio management processes.
- Lead/Support the development of side projects for underwriting tools, pricing frameworks, and monitoring capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with Business Development, R&D, Climate Resilience Solutions, Finance, and Legal teams for transaction execution and monitoring.
- Act as a key technical stakeholder across the organization, ensuring effective coordination between teams.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in underwriting in the NatCat, weather, and Agri field.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- A UK work permit.
- Strong technical understanding of weather/catastrophe risk assessment and risk transfer structures.
- Strong analytic background: actuarial pricing, climate risk analytics (experience analyzing weather data and catastrophe model outputs).
- Experience contributing to portfolio management, accumulation assessment, or underwriting strategy.
- Interest in developing underwriting tools, analytical frameworks, and operational processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including client/broker facing situations.
- Strong Programming capability in Python, R, SQL.
- Familiarity with geospatial analytics tools is advantageous.
- Familiarity with REST API and macOS is nice to have.
- Experience with Agentic AI and PowerBI is a plus.
