About the Role
This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise across diverse areas including energy trading strategies, tech company valuations, M&A due diligence, and hedge accounting. It provides a clear career progression path from Manager to Senior Manager, Director, and Partner.
Responsibilities
- Valuing complex financial instruments or building financial models to support corporate transactions and capital investments
- Advising energy generators and retailers on their trading and hedging strategies and policies
- Leading treasury due diligence on a significant buy-side or sell-side M&A transaction
- Delivering valuation services for some of Australia's fastest-growing technology companies
- Conducting AASB 13 fair value methodology reviews for major corporates, financial institutions, or government entities
- Providing AASB 9 accounting advice and hedge accounting support to CFOs and finance teams of listed and large private entities
- Collaborating with specialists across Tax and Legal, Consulting, Technical Accounting, and M&A to deliver integrated solutions
- Managing multiple client engagements end to end, from scoping through to final deliverable, while maintaining a high standard of quality
- Coaching and mentoring junior team members, supporting their technical growth and professional development
- Translating complex technical work into clear, practical advice for senior client stakeholders
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in professional services or financial services, with a track record of delivering high-quality advisory work
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, valuation concepts, accounting principles, financial risk management, and treasury
- Proficiency in financial modelling, with the ability to design, build, and review complex models
- Experience across valuations, financial due diligence, treasury, or technical accounting, ideally spanning multiple sectors
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders confidently
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
- A genuine interest in developing others and coaching junior team members
- A creative, solutions-oriented mindset
