About the Role

The Senior Customer Development Manager is responsible for the functional management, leadership, and execution of all sales related activities for the Nestle Health Science (NHSc) Holistic Health portfolio within Northeast grocery accounts. The individual will work closely with internal teams to identify and develop business opportunities, advance partnerships, and achieve industry leadership with assigned customers. Key accountabilities include hitting annual financial targets and building impactful relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic and winning relationships throughout assigned customers.
  • Focus on exceeding performance goals via off-shelf display, distribution gains, and ACV enhancement.
  • Establish strong working relationships with internal teams including Customer Strategy, Finance, and Customer Service.
  • Gain a detailed understanding of the customer’s go-to-market model, including Category Management strategy.
  • Execute brand and category growth strategies that align with the customer.
  • Identify new opportunities for growth and develop/implement strategic growth plans aligned with corporate goals.
  • Educate business partners on products, retail goals, and measurement of success.
  • Deliver customer presentations demonstrating innovation, shelf positioning, promotions, and pricing.
  • Manage daily business in partnership with customers, including UPC product/item setup, maintenance, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Manage Trade budget and monitor spending efficiency for strong ROI and GTN efficiencies.
  • Oversee Trade Investment Management system inputs, trade fund management, and direct sales forecasting and projection activities.
  • Ensure strong Trade management, budget processing, and efficiency for a strong ROI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years sales experience preferred; minimum 4 years managing strategic FDM customers.
  • Sales experience in the Grocery, Drug, and/or Mass retail channel(s) is required.
  • Experience in consumer goods, health & wellness, and vitamins and supplements is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience using syndicated data to determine customer needs and establish effective pricing and promotional activities.
  • Knowledge of Project Management and experience managing projects in a complex, fast-moving environment.
  • Knowledge of relationship management and experience working with partners to build initiatives that deliver on goals.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).

  • Dynamic leader who can push past obstacles and overcome objections.
  • Articulate communicator who can quickly synthesize data.
  • P&L management and strong financial acumen.
