About the Role

As a facilitator with lived experience of disability, you will share your experiences with school-aged children to inspire and educate, joining the Community Impact team. This role is offered on a casual basis, requiring availability for two to three days per week, primarily during school hours and term time.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver world class disability inclusion workshops to school-aged students (Years 1-7) in the city CBD and surrounding areas, in person and virtually.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with schools to ensure continued partnerships whilst collecting valuable teacher feedback.
  • Achieve KPIs (key performance indicators) related to workshop quality and evaluation feedback.

Requirements

  • Lived experience of living with a disability or neurodivergence, including the ability to share personal experiences to promote social inclusion.
  • Experience in presenting or educating, preferably to school-aged groups, with the ability to engage and inspire audiences through various mediums.
  • Eligibility to obtain a valid Working with Children Check and the capacity to learn and retain presentation content.
  • The ability to travel interstate to work occasionally is strongly desired.
  • Having your own mode of transport would also be beneficial as you will be visiting school sites regularly.
  • Flexibility to adapt to and embrace unexpected changes.
  • Administration skills with the ability to follow processes.
  • A purpose and values driven attitude – you want to make a positive impact in the community.
  • A self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work independently and remotely.
