About the Role
The Social Planner is responsible for engaging the community on the development of strategic documents that assist Council to meet community objectives and working with internal stakeholders to effectively monitor the implementation and reporting of social plans throughout the planning cycle.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the development, implementation, monitoring and review of Council's social policies, plans and strategies, including those relating to social inclusion, housing, community wellbeing and priority population groups
- Prepare issue-based reports and briefing documents
- Provide advice on the application of data and policy to Council's priority focus areas and community development programs
- Provide general Social Planning advice on the domains of local cultural, economic, environmental and social standards
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Social Planning, Public Policy, Community Development, Town Planning (with a key focus on social planning) or a related discipline
- Relevant experience in an equivalent social planning, social policy, community development, strategic planning functions, including policy development, social impact, research and strategy implementation
- Demonstrated significant research, analysis and policy development skills
- Demonstrated experience preparing evidence-based studies, need assessments, and policy analysis, and developing strategies, action plans and policy frameworks that respond to identified community needs
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Check with a result of no relevant adverse findings
- A current Working with Childrens Check

- $112,422 to $129,285 per annum + 12% Superannuation
