About the Role
THE ICONIC is seeking an Assistant Category Buyer for a 12-month maximum term contract to join their Menswear Team. This role supports the department strategy, vision, and budget planning, aiming to achieve sales growth in alignment with the company's commercial strategy.
Responsibilities
- Understand and drive company-wide strategies and OKRs.
- Assist in the procurement of the assigned category.
- Monitor inventory levels to maintain adequate stock.
- Support Category Admin to resolve issues or discrepancies with orders, invoices, or deliveries.
- Manage vendor communications regarding order, invoice, or delivery issues.
- Analyze data, interpret trends, and propose informed decisions.
- Collaborate with vendors to achieve mutual goals and foster partnerships.
- Evaluate vendor performance and assist in selection and deactivation/exit processes.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for contracts with commission-based and OTB-based vendors.
- Identify vendor supply chain challenges through regular quality assurance reviews.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure timely deliveries.
- Resolve issues or discrepancies with orders, invoices, or deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Manage vendor admin to ensure accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for improvements to the customer onsite experience.
- Analyze data, interpret trends, and propose informed decisions based on data.
- Identify cost savings opportunities through analytical skills.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Develop relationships with internal key stakeholders such as Marketing, Vendor Management, Operations, and Finance.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in a concise manner.
- Adapt to changes in the market and industry, being open to learning new skills and approaches.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Buyer working in a high-volume business.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Proficient in Jira, Excel, BI, BC.
- Knowledge of API integrations and platform software preferred.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
