About the Role

The CXP team is responsible for data capture platforms powering home loan applications and non-mortgage products. This role will focus on a major greenfield domain services migration, reimagining application architecture, migrating databases, and modernizing the platform. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join a multi-disciplinary team designing, developing, and deploying systems for agentic workflows in property buying, mortgage broking, and financial services. You will build intelligent, scalable solutions at the intersection of software engineering, AI, and data to improve efficiency and customer experiences. This is a 12-month fixed-term role.

Responsibilities

  • Help build an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly interface designed to empower borrowers.
  • Engage in a partnership with the Product/UX team.
  • Take charge of major segments of the system, providing stable, high-quality solutions.
  • Build robust and scalable software that lays the foundation for a resilient and evolving technological framework.
  • Write clean, maintainable code adhering to continuous integration and deployment standards.
  • Play a leading role in driving the engineering team's rhythm and processes, including planning, design, coding, deployment, and support.
  • Embrace full ownership of developed code, proactively debugging, monitoring, and ensuring production environment reliability.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in TypeScript with solid experience across Node.js back-end services and modern React front-ends.
  • Experience working with document databases, ideally MongoDB (schema design, indexing, performance, and/or change-stream or event patterns).
  • Strong experience building and operating services on AWS, including containerized workloads, networking, observability, and CI-driven deployments.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures (e.g. Kafka or similar), including designing resilient, asynchronous workflows.
  • Experience designing, building, and evolving HTTP APIs and data contracts, including backwards-compatible changes and integration with multiple consumers.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including automated testing, trunk-based development, and feature-flagged releases.
  • Experience working with third-party APIs, vendors, and partner platforms, including technical due diligence, integration design, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across multiple services and integrations, using logs, metrics, and traces effectively.
  • Experience with at least one secondary language (e.g. Kotlin) and a track record of learning new stacks and tools quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
