About the Role
The Programme Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of three critical academic processes: faculty team coordination, examination and assessment production, and faculty thesis coordination and digital content monitoring on Canvas. This role acts as the internal faculty coordination point, tracking deadlines, documentation, and content quality across academic schools, departments, and campuses, while identifying and resolving risks.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate examination preparation and alignment within the faculty team and with professional services stakeholders.
- Track assessment documentation and invigilation arrangements, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place before each exam period.
- Coordinate resit organization and liaise with appropriate professional services.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the faculty regarding examination queries and support professional services in advising students.
- Monitor thesis registration, submission deadlines, and student progress, identifying risks to on-time completion.
- Act as a point of contact for thesis-related student queries within the faculty, collaborating with supervisors to resolve them.
- Track submission requirements, including formatting and originality checks, and follow up with students and supervisors on outstanding items.
- Escalate unresolved thesis issues or emerging risks to the Director of Thesis Quality or relevant teams.
- Conduct regular audits of Canvas modules to ensure learning materials, assessment briefs, schedules, and essential module information are accurate, current, and accessible.
- Collaborate with module leaders to address identified gaps during audits, ensuring content meets institutional standards.
- Flag structural or content inconsistencies to module leaders and escalate unresolved technical issues to appropriate stakeholders.
- Maintain an overview of Canvas compliance across allocated programmes and report emerging patterns to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- A university degree, or an equivalent qualification gained through relevant experience.
- Experience in examination administration, thesis or assessment coordination, or a similar coordination role within an educational institution.
- Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Totara, including conducting content audits.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of examination regulations, thesis processes, and Canvas or LMS best practices.
- Excellent coordination and diplomatic skills to liaise effectively with Registry, IT, Department Heads, module leaders, and the Director of Thesis Quality.
- Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
