About the Role

The Full-Time Hospitalist must cover 12-hour shifts during the week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the occasional option of covering nights or swing shifts. The hospitalist is responsible for admissions, discharges, and thus the overall daily management of patients admitted to the hospitalist service.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and work collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure maximum delivery of quality care to all patients
  • Providing counsel to patients on their health concerns
  • Documenting care delivered in the hospital's medical record system
  • Conforming to hospital-stipulated policies and procedures, Corporate Compliance, and HIPAA programs
  • Participate in medical staff educational programs
  • Be an active supporter of new programs

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice medicine in New York State
  • Board Certified or Board eligible and predominantly trained in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • New resident graduates are welcomed
  • BLS and ACLS certified by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
