About the Role

Swissport is a global leader in aviation services seeking dedicated individuals to join their team. This role is responsible for the service and maintenance of Ground Service Equipment (GSE) at a designated station, ensuring reliable equipment that meets all safety and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and drive all types of GSE equipment, both motorized and non-motorized.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all ground support equipment according to established schedules.
  • Provide troubleshooting and diagnostic assessments for ground support equipment.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Complete airport deicing training and report to work during inclement weather, with overtime as necessary.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round.
  • Remove malfunctioning GSE from service and ensure repairs are completed before return.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and accidents involving GSE.
  • Complete all maintenance/repair documentation according to various requirements.
  • Comply with all security requirements.
  • Maintain a valid motor vehicle driver’s license for airside/non-airside use.
  • Follow all safety guidelines.
  • Keep the GSE shop and its equipment clean and serviceable, reporting deficiencies.
  • Fuel equipment safely and in accordance with environmental requirements.
  • Liaise with Ramp management, customers, and staff professionally.
  • Work as a self-starter and report to shop leads daily.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Trade school training and/or a mechanical background preferred.
  • Good oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Willing to clean and maintain a safe workshop.
  • Willing to travel for training or to assist other stations.
