About the Role

Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of food items accurately and efficiently.
- Follow food safety and food handling procedures.
- Demonstrate experience in preparing hot and cold food items.
- Perform standardized knife cuts.
- Multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
- Exercise quick problem-solving skills.
- Follow recipes and manage assigned station.
- Communicate effectively with team members to produce dishes in a timely manner.
- Refer to Daily Prep List for assigned duties.
- Complete opening and closing checklists daily.
- Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
- Safely use kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules.
- Handle, store, label, and rotate products properly.
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations.
- Understand menu items and prep ingredients.
- Handle hot and cold conditions during food preparation.
- Perform physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- At least one (1) year of relevant cooking experience required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility is a plus.
- Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment.
