About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of food items accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow food safety and food handling procedures.
  • Demonstrate experience in preparing hot and cold food items.
  • Perform standardized knife cuts.
  • Multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
  • Exercise quick problem-solving skills.
  • Follow recipes and manage assigned station.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to produce dishes in a timely manner.
  • Refer to Daily Prep List for assigned duties.
  • Complete opening and closing checklists daily.
  • Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
  • Safely use kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules.
  • Handle, store, label, and rotate products properly.
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations.
  • Understand menu items and prep ingredients.
  • Handle hot and cold conditions during food preparation.
  • Perform physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant cooking experience required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility is a plus.
  • Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment.
