About the Role

Reddam House North Shore, part of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking an exceptional Visual Arts Teacher to inspire students in Years 7-12. This role involves delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons, fostering creativity and critical thinking, and supporting student academic and personal development within a nurturing environment. Responsibilities

Teach Visual Arts to secondary students in Years 7-12, demonstrating exemplary teaching practices.
Work effectively as part of a departmental team to ensure consistent, high-quality learning experiences.
Engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, aligning with Reddam House’s educational philosophy.
Assess students’ abilities, strengths, and areas for improvement, providing individualised support.
Evaluate and assess students’ educational progress and abilities, providing timely feedback and detailed reports.
Monitor and support students’ emotional and social well-being.
Prepare and administer exams, assignments, and other assessments, marking student work.
Participate in required duties, staff meetings, assemblies, and professional development days.
Engage with parents and guardians during parent evenings to discuss student progress.
Attend, supervise and/or organise a range of school activities, including art exhibitions, excursions, and fundraising events.
Undertake professional development to maintain NESA accreditation and stay current with best practices.

Requirements

Ability to deliver high-quality Visual Arts teaching to secondary students; Stage 5/6 experience is essential.
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively within a departmental team.
Proficiency in assessing student abilities and providing targeted academic support.
Competence in designing, administering, and marking assessments.
Clear communication skills for providing constructive feedback and writing detailed reports.
Pastoral awareness to support students’ emotional and social well-being.
Confident interpersonal skills for engaging with parents, students, and colleagues.
Strong organisational skills to contribute to school events and maintain ongoing professional development.
A recognised teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent, specialising in Visual Arts.
Accreditation with NESA.
A valid Working with Children Check.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining NESA accreditation.
Provide lunch & playground cover and assist with pick up and drop off duties.
