About the Role
This role offers a blend of management accounting and commercial business partnering, supporting divisional performance through insightful analysis, accurate forecasting, and commercial advice.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, timely monthly management accounts for assigned divisions, taking full accountability for P&L and financial position.
- Produce and distribute monthly financial reporting packs with clear narrative on variances against budget and prior forecasts.
- Participate in annual budgeting, 3-year business planning, and monthly rolling forecasts.
- Oversee month-end ledger integrity by posting journals, managing accruals and prepayments, and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations.
- Attend meetings, challenge business assumptions, and offer fact-led guidance to budget holders.
- Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to navigate market uncertainty.
- Continuously monitor internal controls, identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement in financial reporting, processes, and systems.
- Manage audit queries and lead on ad-hoc financial analysis and projects.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of management accounting principles, variance analysis, and core financial controls.
- Actively studying towards, or finalist/newly qualified in, a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA).
- Strong working knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Familiarity with finance software/ERPs and reporting tools; experience with Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides) is a plus.
- Practical experience in preparing management accounts, journal processing, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Proven experience building relationships with non-finance stakeholders and budget holders.
- Demonstrated experience in seeking out and implementing process improvements.
- Inquisitive nature and commercial curiosity.

- Confidence to ask thoughtful questions and challenge assumptions constructively.

- Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation, analysis, and insight extraction.
