About the Role
Haymarket is seeking a dynamic and experienced finance professional to join our team as a Finance Business Partner. In this role, you'll be a key financial partner for one of our divisions, taking ownership of its financials while leading a small team. You'll drive efficiency and results oriented advice by providing proactive crucial financial analysis to key stakeholders, contributing directly to the division's success.
Responsibilities
- Sit on the Executive Team of a Division, contributing to the effective running of that Division delivering a growth plan.
- Confidently present financial and business information to Divisional Board and other executive stakeholders across the group.
- Provide fact led analysis to aid decision making, strategy and results.
- Collaborate with business managers to complete annual budgets and 3-year business plans.
- Create and maintain successful working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Attend and credibly contribute to business meetings.
- Autonomously take ownership for production of all monthly and annual reporting for a division.
- Manage and help train a small team to assist in your goals.
- Continuously seek ways to improve internal financial reporting and control processes.
- Positively challenge business assumptions.
- Support the business in catering for uncertainty by performing scenario analysis where necessary.
- Ensure accuracy in underlying transactions with a detailed mindset and precision forecasting.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in a Finance Business Partner role with management responsibilities.
- Attained or working towards a relevant professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA etc), ideally at least 3 years PQE.
- Experience of G Suite, including Slides, Sheets etc.
- Experienced operating at an advanced level within Excel.
- Adept at presenting data at best in class standards.
- Experience of AI tools like Claude to drive efficiency in Finance
- Extensive experience of seeking and implementing ways to improve on current practice.
- Must have a conscientious, accurate, detailed and methodical approach to work.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, e.g. articulate when communicating to partners and key staff, and able to present financial results to the function and wider business.
- Can demonstrate strong relationship building skills with ability to work with colleagues at all levels.
- A team player with a flexible and pro-active approach to work with the ability to work autonomously.
- Strategic & Commercially Minded: You don't just report numbers; you understand the business context behind them. You are proactive in providing fact-led analysis that helps guide strategy, evaluate opportunities, and drive divisional growth.
- Credible & Confident Communicator: You possess top-tier written and verbal communication skills. You can articulate complex financial concepts clearly and present with confidence when sitting on the Divisional Executive Team and interacting with executive stakeholders.
- Constructive & Proactive Challenger: You are comfortable positively challenging business assumptions, running scenario analyses to handle uncertainty, and pushing for operational excellence.
- Tech-Forward & Efficiency-Driven: You actively look for ways to modernise processes and improve control environments. You possess advanced skills in Google Workspace/Excel and embrace cutting-edge AI tools (like Claude) to streamline finance workflows.
- Collaborative & Empathetic Leader: You excel at building strong, trusted relationships across all levels of the business—especially with your key partner, the Divisional Managing Director. As a manager, you are invested in mentoring, developing, and guiding a small team.
- Meticulous & Autonomous: You take full ownership of your work, bringing a conscientious, highly detailed, and methodical approach to ensure absolute accuracy in reporting and forecasting.
