Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive investigations, tracking, trending, and reporting of safety events and incident reports.
  • Analyze and draft documentation for root cause analyses.
  • Coordinate corrective action strategies.
  • Collaborate with defense counsel on litigation matters.
  • Review medical records related to safety events.
  • Participate in regulatory agency surveys and develop corrective measures.
  • Formulate, revise, and implement organizational policies for compliance.
  • Address patient complaints involving potential litigation.
  • Support privacy and compliance initiatives.
  • Implement and analyze targeted risk reduction initiatives and strategic clinical safety metrics.
  • Interact on medical malpractice litigation issues, providing information and documents to defense counsel.
  • Assist in the mitigation and resolution of complex patient complaints, safety concerns, and potential litigation exposure.
  • Communicate and coordinate with healthcare professionals, defense counsel, and stakeholders regarding incidents and claims.
  • Conduct investigations of general liability incidents and employee workplace injuries.
  • Prepare documentation for liability insurance carriers.
  • Provide risk-related education and policy guidance to hospital staff.
  • Coordinate and participate in clinical risk and safety committees.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical benchmarks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of dedicated experience within patient safety, clinical risk management, and regulatory agency compliance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical acumen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data tracking and presentation.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
