About the Role

Goldbelt Apex is seeking a Research Associate I to support Enteric pathogen research. This role involves conducting bench research, evaluating vaccine candidates in clinical and pre-clinical studies, and assisting with laboratory maintenance and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in multiple areas of Enteric pathogen research.
  • Conduct bench research on Shigella (or other enteric pathogens) subunit or live vaccine candidates.
  • Assist in the evaluation of Shigella vaccines in clinical and pre-clinical studies, including immunizing small animals, collecting samples, and determining immune responses.
  • Assist in the pre-clinical evaluation of prototype diagnostic devices for pathogen detection.
  • Assist in daily laboratory maintenance, including media preparation, glassware, and hazardous waste management.
  • Perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies and conducting lab inventories.
  • Establish and/or develop laboratory procedures.
  • Analyze and/or evaluate research data.
  • Participate in cooperative efforts to accomplish laboratory goals.
  • Maintain proficiency and expertise in the field of research.
  • Utilize professional knowledge of molecular biology, immunology, cell biology, and microbial pathogenesis.

  • Ability to adapt to complex and rapidly changing research environments.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects with shifting priorities and constraints.
  • Work independently with full responsibility for planning and executing complex projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of high research accountability and productivity.
  • Excellent agility to take on multiple tasks and practical time management skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Recent college graduate with exposure and interest in biological sciences related to human infectious diseases.
  • Willingness to work with small animals in a lab environment.
  • Must be a US citizen (by birth or Naturalization).
  • Ability to obtain NACI.
