About the Role
This role involves performing a wide variety of duties in the Iron and Non-Ferrous Foundry areas and supporting the grinding room operation. The position requires adherence to standard procedures and specific instructions to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of duties throughout the Iron and Non-Ferrous Foundry areas and in support of the grinding room operation following standard procedures or specific instructions.
- Grind large and small castings.
- Operate band saws.
- Dump and shakeout molds.
- Hook off and shovel castings.
- Pour molds.
- Transport metal.
- Perform core knockout.
- Transport materials and/or equipment using fork truck, payloader, or power vac.
- Assist molder in machine set-up.
- Clean assigned areas.
- Operate shot blast cleaning equipment.
- Repair pouring ladles.
- Operate automatic floor sweeper.
- Perform minor maintenance duties such as tightening loose parts and replacing parts.
- Detect and report all defective materials.
- Refer questionable cases to proper supervision.
- Sort, clean, and move castings and materials in the grinding room.
- Operate shot blast cleaning equipment and fork trucks as required in the grinding room.
- Sweep and clean the grinding room area as directed.
- Maintain equipment and area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow prescribed or standard safety regulations.
- Refer unusual or questionable situations to proper supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of (3) three months manufacturing experience.
- Only candidates residing within the immediate area of LOCATION (50 miles) will be considered.
