About the Role
This Senior VP/MS Engineer role is a unique opportunity for an experienced modeller or an actuary who has experience using VP/MS. You’ll be instrumental in implementing and maintaining pricing models and algorithms for insurance products. Working within a high-performing squad, you’ll champion modern engineering and best practices whilst collaborating closely with technical leaders and cross-functional teams to realise our digital north star.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery within the squad, driving architectural decisions and building robust, dynamic pricing capabilities.
- Design and implement scalable, secure VP/MS models, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
- Champion pricing initiatives, delivering efficient, practical solutions and supporting product/platform owners in exploring new business rules and platforms.
- Monitor and manage production support, ensuring incidents and problems are resolved within SLAs while continuously improving model performance and accuracy.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship, fostering a strong engineering culture and developing team competencies across application development.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of model development processes and changes to ensure transparency and traceability.
Requirements
- Modelling experience and delivery using VP/MS, ideally with experience in the insurance industry.
- Proven expertise in algorithm modelling and well versed with spreadsheets in analysing pricing requirements.
- Sound business and technical analytical skills with appreciation of actuarial concepts and terms.
- Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
- Strong advocate of standards and the ability to challenge the status quo with new and emerging technology to address new business challenges.
- Experience in Individual Life or Group Insurance is highly regarded.
