About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Team Leader Financial Reporting to join our Finance team and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the finance function. You will lead a small team responsible for month-end close, statutory reporting, reconciliations, APRA reporting, audit coordination, and financial controls. You’ll also partner with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting activities
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
- Manage statutory reporting and APRA returns
- Coordinate external audit requirements
- Drive reporting process improvements and finance projects
- Develop and support team capability
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance and the broader business
Requirements
- CPA or CA qualification
- 10+ years’ experience within Private Health Insurance (preferred), General Insurance, or Life Insurance
- Experience preparing statutory accounts and APRA returns
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
- Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing team members
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working with ERP systems (TechnologyOne highly regarded)
- A proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and continuous improvement
