About the Role
The Technology CCO (TCCO) Controls Assurance team ensures technologists effectively manage non-financial risks and provide secure, always available technology products and services. This team automates controls testing, moving from manual to automated, data-driven processes, while managing the current control environment and enabling strategic objectives through risk advice.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the strategic approach to assure data controls (load assurance, data validation, data quality etc) across technology.
- Coach and mentor team members with deep technical and regulatory expertise to set new benchmarks in controls assurance.
- Shift controls assurance from manual to automated, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory expectations.
- Proactively challenge legacy practices, driving the adoption of innovative, automated, and data-driven assurance solutions.
- Strengthen expertise across a broad range of control types such as IT General Controls, business process controls, data controls and new AI/Agentic controls, ensuring best-in-class risk management.
- Collaborate across Technology and the Group to embed a culture of continuous improvement, risk awareness, and customer focus.
- Role model the CBA way, fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and learning-oriented team culture.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge across data risk and data controls (load assurance, data validation, data quality etc).
- Demonstrated performance in controls assurance within complex, highly regulated environments and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability with hands-on experience to transform, challenge the status quo, and deliver innovative solutions for risk and control activities including application of AI/agentic.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels.
