About the Role
Responds to emergency service calls 24/7 to perform tire repairs, replacements, and general service at customer locations or STTC. Prioritizes customer satisfaction, flexibility, and adaptability to changing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Perform 24-hour Emergency Road Service, including on-call duty and striving to complete calls within 2 hours.
- Perform duties of Inside Service Personnel.
- Mount, dismount, balance, replace, and repair truck tires at STTC, customer locations, or on the road using a service vehicle or shop equipment.
- Operate hydraulic jacks and air tools to raise vehicles and service tires.
- Recognize repairable tires and perform repairs correctly.
- Maintain a clean and organized service department.
- Communicate all work performed through legible writing on tags, work orders, and invoices.
- Perform all tasks safely and efficiently, using provided safety equipment.
- Report equipment needs, broken tools, or unsafe situations to management.
- Perform daily maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment, including weekly vehicle washing.
- Quote product and service prices to customers.
- Call customers and/or dispatchers upon completion of night calls and obtain POs.
- Complete service work orders with all required information.
- Ensure all products leave with proper paperwork and report policy violations.
- Complete and submit VMR weekly.
- Keep the vehicle organized and stocked with necessary tools and supplies.
- Ensure customer safety by keeping them away from the servicing area.
- Perform miscellaneous job duties as needed to ensure prompt customer service.
Requirements
- 1 year or more of related work experience is helpful; STTC will provide training.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to use a computer; training will be provided.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Capable of operating lift gates, service trucks, service tools, air compressors, hydraulic jacks, air guns, air gauges, mounting and balancing machines, and computer/office equipment.
- Uniforms are provided by Service Tire Truck Centers at a reasonable cost and must be kept clean and free from holes or tears.
