About the Role
Maintains the event space, public space and back of the house areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained venue.
Responsibilities
- Repairs or replaces items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous items as directed by management.
- Adheres to the systematic application of the preventive maintenance program.
- Makes records of repairs made or areas needing further attention.
- Performs various tasks to include carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained venue as directed by management.
- Maintains the cleanliness of areas repaired or touched up.
- Travels, as necessary, to different properties/venues.
- Assists coworkers with completion of assignments when needed.
- Performs general cleaning tasks.
- Keeps work area clean and well organized.
- Attends and participates in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
- Performs all reasonable requests by the management team.
- Maintains professional appearance and behavior when in contact with guests and team members.
- Arrives to work in a perfect uniform and excellent hygiene.
- Knows and follows all Pier Sixty emergency, safety and health procedures.
- Follows Policies and Procedures in training manuals and Team Member handbook.
- Follows proper time keeping policies and procedures.
- Follows the sign in and out procedure for keys as necessary.
Requirements
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop on a consistent basis.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and push and pull up to 100 lbs with or without assistance.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to understand directions for using tools and machinery and maintaining safety and sanitation.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly.
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all equipment and tools along with other tasks as directed.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Must have a positive attitude about service, teamwork, and motivation to go above and beyond.
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Able to work flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels.
Skills
- Good experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting and carpentry.
- Good mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of equipment.
- Good working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
- Good English language communication and mathematical skills.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers.
- Ability to fully comprehend job assignments.
- Ability to perform accurate simple arithmetic functions.
- Ability to follow manufacturers instructions.
Experience Level
- Three or more years of experience in hospitality related industry in similar capacity preferred.
Education Level
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- Trade school required
