About the Role
The Audience Services Associate is a sales and customer service position focused on fielding customer inquiries, selling tickets and subscriptions, and responding to communications. Associates will also manage window sales and ticket distribution during performances.
Responsibilities
- Book subscriber tickets to shows and events, both over the phone and in-person
- Sell subscription packages to new and/or returning patrons
- Sell tickets to single-ticket buyers in-person and over the phone
- Respond to e-mails and incoming calls in a professional manner
- Handle cash, credit cards, and checks
- Handle day-to-day responsibilities, such as mailing tickets, sending outgoing calls, and organizing the workspace
- Quickly troubleshoot and navigate customer service requests promptly, positively, and professionally
- Work the Box Office window (while in performance)
- Perform other duties to support the Box Office / Sales Operations department, as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to address subscribers, single-ticket buyers, Second Stage artists, and various other theatre patrons in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to problem-solve quickly and efficiently
- Previous customer service experience (including phone sales) a plus
- Knowledge of various ticketing software (Tessitura especially) a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Interest in theater, new plays, and engaging with the theater-going public
- Passion for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives within the artistic community
- Background screenings on final candidates after a conditional offer of employment has been made
