About the Role

Capital Dynamics is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in the London office. The accountant will support the preparation of monthly management reporting and year-end statutory reporting, liaising with auditors and internal teams. This role contributes to shaping the finance department through process improvement, insightful reporting, and efficient workflows.

Responsibilities

• Control and ensure the integrity of all entities by maintaining and reviewing accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
• Take ownership of the balance sheet and P&L for individual entities.
• Prepare and review monthly reconciliation files for all balance sheet amounts.
• Assist in the Group consolidation process.
• Support the reconciliation of intercompany positions and investigate differences.
• Provide compliance with regulatory capital calculations for various jurisdictions.
• Prepare and support the review of statutory financial statements.
• Liaise with auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
• Liaise with tax accountants for corporation tax calculations and VAT returns.
• Continually review and simplify financial controls.
• Support other business, financial control, and reporting initiatives.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, ideally gained with a leading professional accounting firm.
• Thorough accounting knowledge of IFRS (US GAAP and UK GAAP beneficial).
• A maximum of 5 to 6 years working in a corporate environment.
• Asset management (Private Equity, Venture Capital, Asset Management, Hedge Fund, Investment Bank, etc.) preferred experience.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with NetSuite will be highly advantageous.
• Understanding of the legal and regulatory compliance framework for the asset management industry (e.g., AIFMD, FATCA) is highly advantageous.
• Understanding of controls, with an ability to critically evaluate them within a smaller organisation.
• Ability to understand financial risk and use it to influence decisions and critically appraise processes.
• Must be fluent in English and display superior verbal and written communication skills.
