About the Role

We are seeking a backend engineer to build the infrastructure for cutting-edge AI development tools. You will scale ingestion pipelines, evolve open source libraries, and ensure reliable, observable, and fast system performance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship features providing deep insight into LLM usage and performance.
• Build a unifying layer to proxy, cache, and normalize calls across various LLM providers.
• Develop and evolve open source libraries for tracing and evaluating LLM calls.
• Build highly available real-time data pipelines for ingesting, storing, and querying AI usage data.
• Collaborate with product engineers to ship end-to-end features.
• Bundle and upload code snippets for on-demand function calls in LLM workflows.
• Support parsing and uploading attachments from LLM multimodal outputs.
• Implement role-based access controls and data retention policies for enterprise use cases.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience across multiple parts of the stack.
• Strong systems thinking with experience in infrastructure projects, designing for scale, uptime, and data integrity.
• Proficiency in modern backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Go, Python, Rust, Postgres, Redis, Terraform, Docker, AWS).
• Experience with observability tooling (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar).
• Passion for making systems operable, available, and rock solid.
• Comfortable with ambiguous problems and partnering across the company.
• Clear communicator who documents decisions, shares context, and helps lift the team.
