About the Role
Mace is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for its growing team in Berlin to support clients in delivering project objectives within time, cost, and quality requirements. This role will initially focus on a hospitality fit-out project, with future opportunities across various business sectors and locations in the region.
Responsibilities
- Manage the construction phase of projects, including pre-construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Coordinate construction activities performed by contractors on site.
- Manage and record site meetings, providing relevant parties with information and analysis.
- Track construction progress, review programmes, and present activities in regular reports.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Support the commercial team in assessing contractor payment applications.
- Manage quality on site, identifying and resolving defects.
- Monitor and engage in health, safety, and wellbeing aspects of projects.
- Manage and track project changes, ensuring timely processing and formalization.
- Compile and manage handover processes and documentation.
Requirements
- Construction and/or project management experience.
- Knowledge of construction methods, particularly fit-out.
- Understanding of scheduling, reporting, and project finance.
- Understanding of relevant contractual frameworks (VOB or equivalent).
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and wellbeing standards and best practices.
- Strong communication skills for coordination and reporting.
- Experience with project-related software (MS Project, MS Office, PlanRadar, BIM360).
- Proficiency in English and German.
- Degree/tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience/apprenticeship with demonstrable role knowledge.
