About the Role

Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission by delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online businesses. The Compute Silicon & Manufacturing Engineering (CSME) organization designs, develops, manufactures, and packages Microsoft's computer chips, including the Azure Cobalt. The Silicon Manufacturing & Product Engineering (SMPE) team defines and delivers operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, focusing on planning, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability. We are seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join this team and contribute to managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Lead supplier quality engineering roadmap for Microsoft custom and semi-custom SoC development.
Drive methodology and requirements for onboarding new suppliers and managing NPI product ramps.
Drive methodologies for quality strategies at OSAT, ODM, Foundry, and indirect material suppliers.
Drive qualification criteria and reliability plans at supplier companies to ensure derisking of future Microsoft products.
Define supplier benchmarking methodology and drive supplier audits.
Lead investigation and resolution of high impact quality events, driving RCCA and CAPA activities.
Interface with internal teams from silicon to system to datacenter to drive end-to-end quality leadership.
Understand key dependencies at the system level.
Drive FMEA activities for risk mitigation under NUDD (New, Unique, Different, Difficult) in the NPI roadmap.
Drive DFM, DFR, and DFQ initiatives.

Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Requires access to information controlled for export under export control regulations.
Must provide proof of citizenship or residency for assessment of eligibility to access export-controlled information.
Candidate's citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.

USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year (U.S. typical base pay range)
USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year (San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area base pay range)
