About the Role

The Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the area of Accounting. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Pursue innovative and independent research.
• Establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
• Be assigned a teaching and service load.
• Advance the area's research agenda.
• Teach undergraduate students at the University of Toronto Scarborough.
• Engage in active involvement in PhD student education and training.

Requirements

• Earned a PhD degree in Accounting, or a related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter.
• Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching in accounting.
• Academic concentration and research program directly related to accounting.
• Capability to teach assurance and tax.
• Hold a CPA designation.
• Research and teaching interests that complement and enhance existing departmental strengths.
• Evidence of research excellence demonstrated through publications in top-ranked and field-relevant journals, forthcoming publications, or working papers that meet high international standards.
• Evidence of research excellence demonstrated through the submitted research statement.
• Evidence of research excellence demonstrated through presentations at significant conferences.
• Evidence of research excellence demonstrated through awards and accolades.
• Evidence of research excellence demonstrated through strong endorsements from referees of high standing.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching demonstrated through teaching accomplishments.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching demonstrated through the teaching dossier.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching demonstrated through strong letters of reference.
• Evidence of commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and to the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.
• Submit a 1- to 2-page statement of contributions to equity and diversity.
