About the Role
This role involves the design and development of container-based virtualization infrastructure, integrating hardware, operating systems, virtualization software, and third-party components for mobile communication systems. The work utilizes Rakuten Symphony's Kubernetes-based virtualization infrastructure software, including design, automation, performance tuning, and ensuring stable service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of container-based virtualization infrastructure.
- Integration of hardware (HW), operating systems (OS), virtualization infrastructure software, and third-party components.
- Design for various components using Rakuten Symphony's Kubernetes-based virtualization infrastructure software.
- Automation of infrastructure construction.
- Development tasks related to performance tuning.
- Consider and implement necessary functionalities for stable and efficient service delivery.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of the internal structure of the Linux OS, including the kernel, system calls, network stack, and file systems.
- Experience in Kubernetes cluster building, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to understand the behavior of components like kubelet, etcd, and CNI, and perform performance tuning and debugging.
- Deep knowledge of container runtimes such as Docker and containerd.
- Understanding of container isolation, namespaces, cgroups, and other mechanisms.
- Experience in developing automation tools, operators, and custom controllers using Go, Python, and Rust.
- Experience in automation using bash and shell scripts.
- Experience in infrastructure management using Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
- Foundational knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewalls.
- Experience in performance analysis and troubleshooting using tools like eBPF, perf, and ftrace.
- Knowledge of designing and operating distributed systems.
- Knowledge of distributed storage and file systems such as Ceph, NFS, and iSCSI.
- Knowledge of hardening security for Linux and Kubernetes.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects.
