About the Role

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the general maintenance of the internal and external environment of the Weeroona Aged Care Centre, ensuring essential safety, preventative, and breakdown maintenance in consultation with leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking basic repairs to building, equipment, and assets not requiring trade skills.
  • Carrying out physical inspections of property, premises, assets, equipment, safety, and compliance.
  • Providing support to line manager for quality, efficient, and effective service delivery by contractors.
  • Ensuring all essential safety requirements (fire safety, electrical, legislative) are met.
  • Completing corrective and preventative maintenance activities as scheduled.
  • Maintaining a safe and aesthetically pleasant environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
  • Acting as a role model in promoting The Salvation Army Aged Care Vision, Mission, and Values.

Requirements

  • A National Criminal History Check is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Completion of a Working with Children Check for child-facing roles.

Education Level

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the aged care industry, including the application of the Aged Care Quality & Safety Standards, especially Standard 4.
  • An understanding of building compliance and certification.

Salary/Compensations

  • $29.74 - $31 hourly based on experience level and qualifications +12% superannuation; exclusive of penalties, allowances, NFP salary packaging ($15,900 + $2650 meal and entertainment card).
