About the Role
This internship offers a dynamic experience within the Tech, Data, AI, Ventures (TDAV) organization, focusing on deploying technology, data, AI, and ventures to accelerate sustainable competitive advantage. You will build solutions that power how New York Life serves policy owners, agents, advisors, and employees, grounded in the company's culture of long-term commitment, integrity, and a people-centered approach to innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity solutions to protect enterprise systems, applications, and data.
- Assist with monitoring security events, analyzing alerts, and investigating potential threats.
- Strengthen security controls across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Work with security tools, automation platforms, and threat intelligence resources to improve incident response processes.
- Support secure code changes, configuration improvements, and security assessments to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and engineering teams to enhance security monitoring capabilities.
- Leverage AI-powered technologies to detect, prevent, and respond to emerging cyber threats.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Available to work full-time for the entire duration of the 11-week Summer Internship Program (May to August).
- Able to work in a hybrid environment, with three days per week on-site in New York City.
- Passionate about technology, data, AI, and innovation, with a collaborative mindset and a desire to learn and make an impact.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (no employment-based immigration sponsorship, OPT, or CPT offered for this program).
Skills
- Cybersecurity fundamentals (network security, network & endpoint threat detection, incident response)
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
- Interest in security automation and tool integration
