About the Role
The Decorator Showcase Events and Operations Manager will lead high-profile fundraising and donor events for San Francisco University High School, orchestrating the Decorator Showcase, the school’s premier design fundraiser. This role involves designing and executing diverse events, collaborating with volunteer Co-Chairs, leading a volunteer committee, and implementing strategies for donor cultivation and stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an annual events calendar focused on donor engagement, cultivation, recognition, and stewardship.
- Create detailed work plans, map out team assignments, monitor milestones, and ensure flawless, end-to-end event execution.
- Oversee registration strategy, event logistics, and on-site operations to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Lead the creation of event materials, scripts, briefings, and the annual Program Book.
- Define success metrics, gather attendee feedback, and analyze event outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with volunteer Co-Chairs to manage, motivate, and direct a large volunteer committee and contingent event staff.
- Act as a key liaison, building trust and rapport with central development staff, vendors, parents, alumni, students, and designers.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to build, monitor, and manage complex program budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant event planning, fundraising, or project management experience.
- Proficiency in Google Suite is required.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge is a strong plus.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends, with increased availability required in May during the public Showcase run.

- Fundraising Savvy: Solid understanding of donor relations, stewardship, and fundraising event best practices.
- Exceptional Communication: Clear, tactful, and diplomatic communicator comfortable engaging with diverse, high-level stakeholders.
- Proven Leadership: Self-motivated collaborator who can lead independent workstreams while fostering a supportive, team-oriented environment.
- Detail-Oriented & Agile: Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
