About the Role
Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities and preserves order. May act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. This role requires the ability to stand for the majority of the workday.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and guests.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with parents, students, staff, and community members.
- Monitor hallways, stairwells, toilet facilities, outside facilities, and other public areas to ensure safety and security.
- Assist with fire drills, crises, and other emergency building evacuations.
- Assist administrators and staff in crisis and emergency situations.
- Ensure smooth student traffic flow and timely arrival to class.
- Supervise and direct student movement during arrival and dismissal.
- Update security records, logs, and reports.
- Ensure all doors and gates are locked and alarms are engaged.
- Assist staff and emergency personnel in handling emergencies and de-escalating disruptive situations.
- Assist in daily operational duties as needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills.
- Must be able to verbally de-escalate situations.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must be able to understand and effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
