About the Role

The International School of San Francisco is seeking a Middle School Supervisor to monitor students, coordinate daily logistics, manage check-ins, and ensure seamless communication among the supervisory team. This role involves enforcing health and safety protocols and assisting with student behavior management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and facilitate communication among the supervisory team to ensure consistent campus coverage for middle school.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other supervisors for shift handoffs and daily updates.
  • Assist Supervisors with early morning student check-in and arrival logistics.
  • Support the secure collection and organization of student cellphones.
  • Manage the early morning cellphone collection process, ensuring secure storage and accurate logging.
  • Monitor students during key moments of the day (lunch, recesses), maintaining high visibility.
  • Circulate hallways, restrooms, and common areas during class periods to ensure a safe environment.
  • Assist and gently redirect students in the hallway who are out of class or off-task.
  • Follow and actively remind students of school health/safety protocols.
  • Perform daily administrative computer tasks, including cross-checking student schedules and records on Blackbaud.
  • Track and document student attendance records or daily supervisory logs in Toddle.
  • Employ Classwize during study hall monitoring to ensure students are accessing appropriate, on-task digital content on their school devices.
  • Supervise students in classrooms during office hours and study hall sessions.
  • Perform check-ins, support with student organization, and lead students in goal-setting tasks.
  • Assist administration with student behavior management or incident reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the middle school administration.
  • Lead or assist with the afternoon dismissal process, ensuring students exit the campus safely or transition to designated after-school areas.
  • Supervise students waiting for late pickups or participating in after-school waiting zones.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors for end-of-day handoffs or incident reporting.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the US.

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse, fast-paced, multilingual educational environment
  • Strong communication skills with students and adults
  • An interest in learning about and supporting library services
  • Punctual, collaborative, self-motivated, and excited to interact with students
  • Prior experience with school-age children strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of French is a plus
