About the Role

Cisco’s Supply Chain Strategy team translates external and internal sensing into a prioritized portfolio of initiatives and helps the organization move from strategy to execution across Planning, Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics. We deliver insights, business cases, and decision frameworks that drive resilience, service, and cost outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive research and coordinate with cross-functional teams to collect business-critical data to inform strategy decisions.
  • Collaborate with product teams and other supply chain functions to translate business requirements into actionable strategies and compelling cases for supply chain design initiatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend supply chain optimization opportunities in a dynamic business environment and evolving geopolitical landscape.
  • Implement discrete work packages within broader workstreams (e.g., cost to serve, resilience scenario planning, supplier risk, inventory optimization).
  • Develop executive-ready materials that translate complex analysis into crisp narratives, along with clear recommendations for executive decision making.
  • Support the annual and multi-year supply chain strategy cycle: gather and analyze internal performance data and external market/technology signals; develop clear insights and recommendations.
  • Leverage generative AI tools as a core partner in the workflow, to automate data synthesis, and optimize end-to-end supply chain strategies.
  • Build models and dashboards for initiative sizing (benefit, cost, risk), and portfolio health; ensure data quality and repeatability.
  • Conduct competitive and peer benchmarking; synthesize implications for Cisco’s priorities.
  • Contribute to team operations: pipeline/portfolio updates, meeting notes, and action tracking; support PMO where needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Data Analytics, Finance/Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply-chain consulting, corporate strategy/operations, or analytics
  • Consulting experience (external management consulting or internal consulting/strategy) required.
  • Ability to apply generative AI to improve productivity and enhance team’s capabilities.
  • Strong analytical toolkit: Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI).
  • Clear, concise communicator with strong storytelling through slides (PowerPoint/Google Slides).
  • Exposure to one or more supply chain domains (planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics) is a plus.
  • Effective project and change management skills.
